Tangyuan, sweet glutinous dumplings
As the Lantern Festival (15th day of the 1st lunar month) is approaching, Tangyuan, sweet glutinous dumplings for the festival are a hot sale again.
In the supermarkets of Dongguan, you can find all kinds of colorful sweet dumplings. In addition to the traditional stuffings such as red bean paste, sesame and peanuts, you can find a variety of Tangyuan stuffed with new fillings including the strawberry, green beans and lily, chocolate and even the xylitol.
According to Wang Ruifang the manager of public relationship department of Carrefour Supermarkets, the sales rate of Tangyuan in Dongguan is pretty much the same as the previous years. A lot of brand-name Tangyuan are on sale with favorable prices. The sales revenue of Tangyuan in Carrefour for these days is expected to be about 3,000 yuan per day.
Tangyuan- buying Tips:
1. Check the sealing of the package and the quality safety (QS) sign on the package.
2. Check its production date and the shelf-life.
